I only have Uverse for internet service, so it's an unbundled deal. When asked for the reason for calling, I said "cancel Internet". I believe I was connected to the Midwest call center. After the initial offer which I mentioned in the post, I hesitated and asked if they had any better deals. She put me on hold for a few minutes while she talked to her manager, and came back with the deal I ended up getting. Total call took about min. From my experience in the past, if u don't like your offer, call again until you get a rep willing to put in the extra work to find you the best deal.
Have always been able to get some type of promo during this whole time. This may be helpful to those trying to get a similar or better! Persistence is key here- a few calls may be necessary to finally get a rep who will offer you this deal. The rep may have to talk to a supervisor. And what verifiable story gave to the Uverse Internet cancellations rep for wanting to cancel or get a promo? Called number, asked for manager to "keep me as a customer". Upgrading speed from 6 to 18 mbps allowed for waived equipment and installation fee.

Deal not good on 12mbps. Includes 24Mbps and U-verse voice unlimited. This price is before taxes. Success on first try via "Internet cancel" option. Dry loop, Success after 3 rd try. Called ATT customer service and told them I was thinking of canceling for a cheaper carrier, got transferred to LA branch of cancellations, got the upgrade as well as promotion in one shot. Houston, TX 18mbps 12month contract. Success on first try: I upgraded from 12mbps and the speed increase was immediate. Order support chat couldn't apply the proper discount; I had to call back the cancellations department to get them to apply the discount, which showed up online after 12 hours.

Miami, FL - 24mbps 12 month contract. Pushed for better deal Milpitas, CA. Called East Coast listed below. Rep asked manager about promo came back with this offer. No tv or phone service. Had to get passed around 3 times. The second guy was a total D-Bag and wouldn't budge so I asked him to confirm my account was off contract and I could leave at any time.
He said yes and sent me to someone else who gave me this deal. Best I could find after 3 attempts 2 chat, 1 phone was Existing Customer, Internet Only. Reached retentions and said I would switch to Time Warner due to lower rates. Declined two initial offers and mentioned I saw people getting half off on internet boards and would renew service for that arrangement.
Took 1 try, but talked to 2 different people. Gave email to redo this after 1 year. Transferred twice, but all in all took 20 minutes.
I called cancellations, mentioned Comcast offer. No fight at all. Tracy, CA 18mbps 12 month contract. Less than a minute hold at The gal said that she normally does cancellations, but does sales as well and seemed happy to not have an angry caller Santa Clara, CA. Total time on the call 17m 55s.
I am an existing customer.. The whole call took around 15 minutes. Did it through online chat, got connected to retention center after I asked for the ph for cancellation. Modem will be replaced with a newer one, free of charge.
